Every spring we get dive bombed by small yellow airplanes! They fly just over the tops of the trees! They are actually dropping tiny bits of corn cobs which are carrying some sort of repellent for mosquitoes. I’ve heard they kill the mosquito larva rather than the mosquitoes. This is what it looks like on our deck. I’ll sweep it all off into the grass and maybe keep some more away. This really helps, without it we can hardly go outside. It’s not supposed to hurt the birds!
Well, here we are on Monday now. We could still hear the airplanes early this morning, but they are west of us now.
Today the tree trimmers came. All morning they were trimming trees and cutting trees down in our back yard, next door and behind us. I didn’t get too much work done because I had to keep watching the men. Jerry and I sat in our sun room and had a perfect view of them working. They worked all morning and into the afternoon. They cut our good pine tree down in the back yard. It’s one we planted ourselves about 12 years ago or so and it was beautiful and so tall. We wanted it saved but it’s branches were too close to the main electrical wires. All that’s left of our beautiful Pine Tree, in this picture, is a tall stump and they even cut it down to the ground.
The tree that is a hazard and needs to come down is a large White Pine Tree. But they won’t take it down! They say it’s over just far enough! Well, one of these days the wind will take it down and we’ll all be sorry because it’ll take all the wires and the transformer down!
The trees were created by God.
So much for all in the day of me…
