Family Camp

This is the painting given to me as a reminder to pray every day for the people of Mexico.

Ah…I’ve been gone for a week to our family camp AKA camp meeting. It was soooo hot out, 90’s, but we have air conditioning in our 5th wheel, thank goodness. We have a beautiful camp ground. For this week we had a missionary service every morning at 9:15. Our missionaries were from Taiwan, Myanmar and Mexico. They were just great. One day the Mexico missionary had a beautiful picture of all fruit. He said it was painted by a man in prison. He challenged us to pray for people in Mexico and said if we’d raise our hands promising to pray every day for Mexico he’d give the picture to someone. I raised my hand and guess what… He walked over and gave the picture to me! It has very bright colors, much more beautiful then it shows here, but you can get an idea of it here.

Then at 10:30 we had a Bible study. Can anything good come out of Ohio? I really don’t care for Ohio. Our Bible study leader came from Ohio! This was one of the best Bible studies I’ve ever been in! We were sad when it had to end…but we’re applying what we learned to our own lives. I say we because Jerry went too.

We also had a preaching service in the evening. It was very good too. A different person each night. So this is camp meeting or family camp. There is a day camp for kids which is really fun for them. There are also teen activities. So it’s really a family camp. Jerry and I have both gone our whole lives and we love it.

We got to conference one day, and were going to come a day to campmeeting, but it was so humid and hot we decided against it. Have been hearing how good it was. Glad you had some good things happen at camp. Today we had the grandkids here because Andrew, Alyssa and Ava’s parents and relatives were loading for the first of three trips they will make for moving.
I had lunch for them. 20 people, but it went well. Love reading about your camping time.

Thanks Sue. It was terribly hot. It was announced that the auditorium would be open at night so if anyone needed a cool place to sleep they could come there. I don’t know if anyone did but it was available. We only had one storm blow up and it only lasted a short time. There wasn’t any damage that I know of. It would have been nice if you had come but I understand.
