We just said good-bye to good friends, Dean & Norma Beguhl. Dean and I both attended Wessington Springs High School and Jr. College in South Dakota, back in the 50’s. A long time ago! We’ve become friends on facebook this year and discovered some similarities in our lives since school days. Similarities like both living in Michigan and both building log homes after retirement… We decided to get together to compare notes. So yesterday they came north to visit us, stayed over night and left this afternoon. Dean is a beautiful singer and sang briefly a couple of times. I wish he would have sung more. Maybe next time!
I’m thrilled they were able to come. I’m thinking of putting a sign in our guest room saying, Dean Beguhl slept here!
Last evening we looked at old school pictures. It was so fun reminiscing!
This morning, after breakfast of puff pancakes with sausage and peaches and Dean’s cinnamon rolls, we showed them our wonderful city of Midland. First of all we took them through Midland Free Methodist Church. Then we drove through town, past the new hospital, through Northwood University campus, past Dow Chem. and Dow Diamond and down to the Tridge. We took some good pictures there. We didn’t walk the Tridge though because it had a layer of frozen snow and ice.
Dean is kind of a ham at times, and we had a good time! I also got a good shot of Jerry, although I wish it was closer up.
Friendship is love in it’s purest form. Lovely photos!
