Hot Air Balloon Fest

The past week and a half have been really tough. It’s almost like the world stopped. Well, I guess my world did stop. Tomorrow I fly to Portland, Oregon, Sunday will be the memorial service for Lorraine. Tuesday I come back home. I’m hoping life will get back to normal after that.

This evening as I was cleaning up supper dishes, Jerry said, “Come on, let’s go see the hot air balloons take off.” I grabbed my camera and away we went. It felt good. It felt normal! I got some pretty good pictures. We didn’t stay long so we missed the sky divers, etc. but it was still so relaxing just to sit and look up in the sky and watch the colorful balloons drifting along. We counted 23 in the sky, in the time that we were there. That’s not as many as we’ve seen in previous years but it was still good. I don’t know why the sky is so blue in the first picture! Same sky, same camera, same setting! They were going away from us so I didn’t get any good close up shots. Maybe next year… Remember you can click on any pictures to see them up closer.
