What’s The Story Here?

Several years ago Jerry and I were driving across Montana. There are crosses posted along the highway where an accident occurred and folks died. I think most states have this custom. I’ve never seen as many as we saw in Montana and I can’t help but wonder if some of them represent Native Americans. It’s a very sad reminder to drive safely, without drinking. If you drive across Montana you’ll see several that have more than one cross. One or two had nine crosses! I was very saddened by these markers. What happened? What was the story behind the crosses? Did they all represent one family? Were they teenagers out joy riding? Had they been to a party with too much drinking? Were they innocent folks who were hit by a drunk driver? When we went by each one I couldn’t help but pray for the survivors. Some probably happened many years before but the family would still be affected and mourning. So I prayed. Then I began to wonder…did the victims  know Jesus personally? What about the families left here? Do they have a personal relationship with Jesus? My heart began to ache for them. I asked Jerry to stop at this marker, of seven crosses, so I could take a picture. I wanted to have a reminder to pray for the family and friends who were left here mourning for loved ones who were taken far too early.
