It’s March in Michigan. That means winter is still here but spring is coming! We still have lots of snow. The temperature this morning is 36 but it’s supposed to go up as high as in the 50’s today. We know spring is coming because we’re seeing Robins! What is there for them to eat?
I saw my first Robin a week or so ago. But yesterday at my church, looking out a window of the foyer, I saw about a dozen or so Robins! They were in a Flowering Crab Tree that has many little tiny apples hanging on. What a neat picture that would make! My camera was in my jacket pocket clear at the other end of the church building. I hurried off to get it. By the time I returned the Robins were no where in sight…!
Lots of folks were entering the building. They had to walk past that tree as they came from the parking lot to enter the foyer. While I’m glad folks were coming to church…they were ruining my perfect photo-op!
So I waited and waited for folks to enter the building and give the Robins a chance to enjoy some breakfast of sour, bitter, tiny apples. I stayed out, watching and waiting, through the singing of hymns and preliminary parts of the service until the pastor began his sermon. Then I knew I’d better give up and go in to sit with Jerry and be fed spiritually.
So I never did get a picture of the dozen or so Robins in the tree but I did get one! Well, actually I got two…one in the tree and one on the roof of the building.
Please take my word for it…there were a dozen or more Robins in this tree all at the same time yesterday. Spring is coming!!!
You sound like my mom. One of her hobbies is watching the Robins.

Thanks for your comment. Actually, I watch all birds. Robins are probably the least that I watch. It was just so unusual to see so many Robins at one time and so early in the year. I should say I watch all nature! I love nature! 🙂
