A New Day

A new day. A new month. What will this day be like? I wonder. For a young friend of mine, today is her wedding day! Because I’ve been sick, I’m being wise (I think) and am not going to the wedding. Brooke, if you happen to read this, please, be understanding. I wish the very best for you and your new husband.

I’m reading another book. This one is The Puritans by Jack Cavanaugh. I checked it out before I got sick but only to try reading. I didn’t expect to like it or to finish it. Wrong!!! I can hardly put it down! I love history. It’s definitely a history book. It’s going clear back to the 1600’s. I’m fascinated by it. The author has me captured! Book II is The Colonists. A benefit of being sick…I can read, read, read and not feel guilty for not doing housework, etc.

My oldest daughter and son-in-law came to stay with us during my first week of illness. A young son-in-law can’t sit still! So Gene painted my kitchen a very pretty light yellow! Oh dear this picture doesn’t really show it yellow. But it is clean!

He also put up a new light fixture in my kitchen. Yeah…I can see again!

Then he put up new window coverings in the living room and dining room! We had planned on closing them only at night. But our temperatures have been so low…well below zero…so we’re keeping them closed during the day time as well, until the days are warmer! What a difference this has made! We’ve lived here for 18 years with our windows uncovered and we now see what a difference it makes to keep them covered with good window coverings. Well, the pictures are in backwards to my writing but I think you can see what I’m trying to say. With these improvements I feel better already!?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I’m sorry you are sick. We can pray for each other. I had a cold and now it’s deeper in my lungs and I can’t seem to cough up. Going to Dr. Tomorrow to make sure it’s not pneumonia. This winter sure has most of us sick . Temp. Tonight is -5 again. Wow
Chuck loves history too, especially anything Lincoln. I’ll recommend your book to him. Take are of yourself, praying you’ll have a good recovery. Hugs…
