Hilo – Day Four

???????????????????????????????This morning we arrived at Hawaii, the Big Island. We’ll go to two different ports on this island. This day we were at Hilo.

???????????????????????????????

Pam and Gene, Kay and I went to a beach at Anaeho’Omalu Bay.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

It had black sand on the beach. It’s caused by volcano’s. I took this picture just so we could see the sand is a mixture of good sand and black sand.

???????????????????????????????

It was interesting here but not as nice as other beaches. This is Kay crossing a little walking bridge uniquely made with logs.

???????????????????????????????

There is a lot of volcanic rock here.

???????????????????????????????

I think this is a Candle Bush. Can you see the bee working away in it? I love to take pictures of flower’s with bees! No, I’ve not been stung…yet!

???????????????????????????????

We saw acres and acres of volcanic rock on the bus ride to this beach.

???????????????????????????????

There are beautiful flowers everywhere!

???????????????????????????????

Jerry had stayed on the ship while we went sightseeing and to the beach. He sat on our balcony and watched a submarine not too far away. It appeared to be giving rides to folks! The all white boat is the submarine. (Remember you can click on the pictures to make them bigger. Then click on the arrow in the top left hand corner to come back to the blog.

???????????????????????????????We watch beautiful sun rises and sun sets every day! Yes, I’m up for the sun rise every morning!!!

???????????????????????????????We had a new guest watching over us tonight!
