Sidetracked by Nature

I didn’t set any records walking my two miles today. I kept getting distracted by the bare trees and a hornet’s nest! I just happened to have my camera with me so yes, I stopped to take pictures! In my old age (74), it doesn’t take much to entertain me! Next summer I’ll have to take pictures of the same trees all leafed out.

The last tree is a huge Cottonwood near our pond. A few years ago lightning struck this tree and split it. Pieces of bark shot yards away! We were still finding pieces weeks later!

I came across a hornet’s nest in  a tree near the road. I took two pictures to get different angles. Trees and Hornet’s Nests were all created by God.

  1. I have to say that when the trees lose their leaves, it makes me sad. I just think they look so sad. By the way, I’m 46 and love looking at and taking pictures of trees. Brett has gotten use to me stopping to take pictures when we are out and about. Very nice!
