Soup/Salad Luncheon

Tom and Sherry choosing soup.

Today was our Prime Timer’s Luncheon at church. Prime Timer’s are anyone over 50 years of age. A few younger folks are usually there too! The menu today was home- made soup, homemade bread, salad, dessert and coffee. There were several kinds of soup which made it hard to choose because they looked and smelled so good! The bread was all baked by one of the hostesses, Bobbie. It was so good! The salads and desserts were a good variety, were also homemade and very good.

Two prizes of a loaf of homemade bread were given at the end of the meal: one for a potato soup made without milk! The other to the man who made soup and his wife wasn’t even allowed in the kitchen until he was completely finished! The winners? Wilma  and Jerry! Jerry’s soup was a boiled dinner of ham, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, onions, celery, etc. It was very good! I was and am proud of him! I haven’t learned yet how to put pictures where I want them! The picture here to the left is Shari awarding Wilma a loaf of bread. The picture on the right is the dessert and beverage table. The third picture is Shari giving Jerry his prize loaf of bread. The last picture is the salad table with Jane, Herb and Bob choosing their salads. It was a very enjoyable and delicious time!
