Travel Log # 13 USA Montana Part 2

I love traveling through Montana! The Big Sky! I have stepped out of our car and actually felt the big sky all around me! I love it! We’ve driven across Montana on highway # 2 many times. It takes us on the southern border of Glacier National Park. We go into the park, of course. On this particular trip in 1994 we went through a snow storm on the eastern side of the park. The Rising to the Sun Highway was closed because of the snow. We went on to the west side of the park and drove for 22 miles on the Rising to the Sun highway before it was closed because of the snow. It’s so breathtakingly beautiful! We saw elk, deer and moose.

Jerry and I hiked three to four miles on a trail through cedar trees, along a stream and up the mountain side. We were all alone. The only sounds were of nature. We went past two signs that warned of bears. We didn’t see any. When it started to rain we turned around and headed back. It was great!
