We flew north from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. We stayed at the beautiful Wang Torn Resort, a few miles outside of Chiang Mai. The grounds were immaculate! There were Hmong women always cleaning up the leaves and any other debris that had fallen during the night. Pictures 1 and 12 show Hmong women with her rakes.
I have worked with many Hmong refugee folks here in my home town and have a real love for them so I enjoyed visiting with them when I had the chance.
This is me on Wednesday afternoon. This was our afternoon and evening in town to eat and shop. I spent lots of money buying gifts for all my grandchildren, the kids I taught in Club 56 and my helper in the class. I bought mainly parasols, frogs, musical instruments, dolls and wraps. It was so fun bartering!
The street when we arrived for shopping on Wednesday afternoon.
We chose what to eat and where. There were tables set up. First we decided and chose what international food we wanted to eat.
The street after dark when the night markets opened!
Some Thai entertainment.
This is in the airport, in Chiang Mai, on the day we left to go back home. I had the most delicious pizza with pineapple on it. Sooo good!
Some of the folks leaving the resort.
More views of the beautiful grounds at the resort. I’ve also added some pictures of some shrines. They reminded me to praise God because He is Sovereign! The last picture is of one of our families shopping.
These pictures were all taken by my friend Gary. He’s the husband and father of the family shopping in the last picture! Thanks Gary!
