Travel Log # 11 Thailand

I’ve been to Thailand three different years making three unique unforgettable times. Each time I flew into Bangkok and then flew north to Chiang Mai.

These musicians were in a mall playing. I bought two of the instruments the man on the left is playing in the front. I gave them as gifts to my grandson, Andrew, and to my helper with Club 56, Ken.

One thing I wanted to do was ride an elephant. I got this close to this one but this wasn’t an elephant to ride, at least not by just anyone. This was taken in Bangkok. The place to ride them is Chiang Mai where I spent most of my time!

My purpose in going to Thailand wasn’t for a vacation. I went to work with children. They came from several different countries and most of them spoke English,but not all. Most were bilingual! My favorite age of kids, to work with, is 10 through 12 or 13. So the last two years those were the kids I worked with. My first year I was the main worker and had ages five through 13. I’ll write about my experiences here because it was a privilege and a challenge! Many of the pictures here are ones taken by my friends, Gary and Connie. They’ve been kind and have given me permission to use their pictures too.
