I couldn’t believe how much work our daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Gene, did while they were here. They arrived from Chicago on Saturday night at midnight. Sunday we went to church, ate a Sunday dinner of roast beef, etc. and enjoyed the day. Monday…whoa…we all worked. Pam and Gene especially. I’ve already posted pictures of the morning cutting trees. In the afternoon the brush fire was lit and the pile was nearly burned up. Rob came over and helped with the fire.
In this first picture Pam and Gene are loading the porch with wood so we can have fires in the wood stove. Armon helped with this but he didn’t want his picture taken.
The 2nd picture is Pam and dad, Jerry, in front of the brush pile. The flame didn’t show up in this picture.
After working outside all day Gene came in and cooked supper! Barbecued spare ribs and sweet potatoes! It was sooooo good!
While they were here Pam let me read a book on her Kindle. Made to Match by Deeanne Gist. It’s a delightful book, one that I didn’t want to put down. I finished it but they waited to leave an hour later then they planned so I could! Now…you guessed it…I want a Kindle!!!
This morning we all went out for Breakfast to…you guessed it…Lanny’s! By all, I mean, Pam and Gene, Rob and Jessica and Jerry and me. Good food and good fellowship.
Can you e-mail the picture of Dad and I in front of the brush pile? We had fun working outside! Hope we didn’t wear Dad out too much!
