We had such a fun and educational day at the wooden shoe factory in Clinge, Holland! The man explained each step to us. My pictures haven’t stayed in the correct order so you can see the steps to making the shoes. I don’t know how to insert pictures, I guess.
Well now, I’m very frustrated because my pictures have gone into disarray. There is a picture of Jerry and Jasper in their wooden shoes and me in mine!
Just look at our dining room table! We almost bought the man out of shoes!
The little boy we saw on the street. I was so interested in his wooden shoes. His dad said I could take his picture but the little boy couldn’t figure out what I wanted to take his picture for! They were just shoes! This dear old man ran the factory all by himself. He said his son’s aren’t interesting in following him so he’ll probably close the factory when he’s too old to run it any more.
Are the wooden shoes comfortable?

Well, we don’t think so but then we’re not used to them. Most people today wear them for working out in their yards or gardens. The little Dutch boy I took a picture of wore them all the time!
