To Be With Jesus

I turned on fb this morning to discover that a young friend, Cheryl, died this morning. She’d been battling breast cancer for years. Her mother died of breast cancer when she was even younger than Cheryl. Cheryl was about the same age as my oldest daughter and would have celebrated 31 years of marriage with her husband just two days after Christmas. Her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter, her two sisters, Connie and Laryann, had all gone to Florida to see her and say their final farewells. She died a little after midnight holding her sister, Connie’s hand. Doug said she simply slipped away. How thankful I am that she didn’t suffer for weeks with a lot of pain. What a blessing her family was there this week with her. My prayers now are for the rest of the family and especially for Doug. December 27 will be an especially hard day for him, as will the weeks and months ahead. But what a blessing to know she is with Jesus! We who believe Jesus is the Son of God have the hope of eternal life.

Oh, how I love Jesus! Oh, how I love Jesus! Oh, how I love Jesus, because He first loved me!

How very sad! Thanks for letting us know.

    • It is sad. She’s so young. The doctors had given her a few months and instead she died with her whole family there and only a couple of weeks had gone by. God is good, she could have lingered and gone through a lot of unbearable pain. Now she’s rejoicing with her parents and praising God!
